Hyperventilation 

metal sheets, magnets, air purifier (2024)

Hyperventilation embodies the collective anxieties of the pandemic and post-pandemic era.

This transformed object is a product of improvisation – an important element of my artistic practice.

This piece is part sculpture, part performance and was installed in situ during a critique. The challenge I tasked myself with is to find an object in the room that I could install the cold bended metal sheets magnetically.

With this serendipitous combination of air purifier with the metal sheet, I was able to create work that has taken a new meaning conceptually.
