Empty Wrappers (2023)
aluminum foil, lights

Empty Wrappers about embracing uncertainty and the unexpected. It about transforming failure into a humorous spectacle.

This piece is inspired by my last minute shift from design to art during my last year of undergraduate studies. It is a metaphor of myself tumbling down stairs from the upper design departments of the art school into its lower fine art departments.

In this site specific installation, I create large aluminum foil forms that resemble used-up wrappers and install it in the emergency shaft that connects the two main sections of the iconic OCADU building in Toronto.
